Shakka UK tour announced with Manchester date

Alternative R&B singer, producer and multi MOBO Award-winning star Shakka is set to embark on a UK tour in April 2019.

Having collaborated with the likes of JME and Mr. Vegas on his original tracks while lending his smooth, London-tinged vocals to the likes of Wiley, Idris Elba, Lethal Bizzle and Wretch 32, Shakka has made a name for himself on the British R&B scene and beyond. Not only does he take inspiration from his Dominican roots and his father’s role as the guitarist and producer of reggae group The Foreigners Crew, he blends those sounds with the spacious pop rock beats of Coldplay and Carole King among other eclectic genres.

He claimed his first MOBO Award for Best R&B/Soul Act in 2015 following the release of his highly successful EP The Lost Boys, and held the title for another year after winning again in 2016.

Firmly established as an influential name on the British urban scene as well as a growing US fans base Shakka continues to thrive as this year he shook the scene once again with new tracks ‘SugarCane’ and ‘Man Down’ featuring AlunaGeorge which is now certified Gold and has amassed over 55 million plays on streaming platforms. Last year also saw Grammy Award-winning rapper, singer and producer Wycleff Jean champion Shakka as a new star after seeing him perform at the MIDEM conference.
